PM Narendra Modi gifted a Dokra boat from Chhattisgarh to the Crown Prince of Denmark. Dokra (also spelled Dhokra) is non–ferrous metal casting craft made using the lost-wax casting technique. The technique has been in practiced in India for over 4,000 years.

The wool used for making Pashmina stoles comes from a special breed of Kashmiri goat, found in the high altitude regions of the Himalayas. Furthermore, a good Pashmina stole requires an expert hand for spinning, weaving and creating embroidery.
PM Modi presented the Pashmina stole packed in a Kashmiri Papier Mache box which is hand painted in the floral design depicting flora and fauna of Kashmir valley. The design used in the piece is an intricate pattern drawn with fine thin brush. To make the design, water based colours, natural pigments and pure gold foil has been used for a natural and royal look. Finally, the piece is coated with lacquer which protects it from water and gives extra durability.

Practiced by the women, Kutch embroidery was GI tagged in 2013. Generally embroidered on cotton fabric, in the form of a net using silk or cotton threads of myriad hues, the handicraft has significantly contributed to the Indian embroidery traditions.
The various types of stitches are square chain, double buttonhole, pattern darning, running stitch, satin and straight stitches and the signature effect of the colorful embroidery sparkles when small mirrors called ‘abhla’ are sown over the geometrically shaped designs.
Dhaal with Koftgiri art from Rajasthan was gifted to PM of Norway, Jonas Gahr Store by PM Narendra Modi. Tarkashi (Koftgiri) on metal is a traditional art of Rajasthan, crafted as a means of decorating arms and armor. In Rajasthan, Alwar and Jaipur are famous for Koftgiri art.

Koftgiri is an inlay work with silver and gold wires and is intended to enrich the surface of the metal of which it is made. The base metal is a mixture of three types of iron (soft, hard and high). These layers are hammered till it completely mixes with one another and a base metal is formed. Then, blades in different shapes are made out of the base and is dipped into a solution of three herbs which brings out the design engraved on blade. The blade is, at last, rubbed and polished with a very fine paper.
In present times, the art is also used for decorating objects such as picture frames, boxes, walking sticks and swords, daggers and war accessories like shields.

This hand-crafted wall decorative art-piece depicting ‘Tree of Life’ is made of brass and is an example of India’s rich tradition. The roots of the tree represent connection with the earth, while the leaves and birds represent life. Similarly, the candle stand represents light.
The Prime Minister also gifted to the Queen of Denmark, Margrethe II a Rogan painting. Rogan painting is an ancient art of cloth printing practiced in the Kutch region of Gujarat. The paint is made from boiled oil and vegetable dyes. It has its origins from Persia. Khatris of Nirona village are involved in this art.
PM Modi gifted the silver Meenakari bird figure from Banaras to Crown Princess of Denmark, Mary.
Meenakari is the art of decorating a metal surface by fusing mineral substances on it. It has its roots in the Persian art of Meenakari (Meena -Persian word for glass). The artform was introduced into India by the Mughals.
