Have questions about the MatSE curriculum?
MatSE faculty and students at the University of Illinois are making significant discoveries that will change the world, including self-healing materials such as polymer coatings that protect materials from the effects of environmental exposure.
MatSE invested four faculty, including Paul Braun, David Cahill, Charles Schroeder and Dallas Trinkle, at last week’s Engineering Investiture Ceremony held at the Beckman Institute. The generosity of the Grainger Foundation, the James Economy family and the Ivan Racheff Foundation’s endowments made this year’s investitures possible.
Questions about corporate, alumni, or hiring our students?
The Braun group focuses on new functional materials for energy storage and solar energy harvesting, in particular on the synthesis of materials with carefully crafted 3D nano- and mesoscale architectures which lead to emergence of new optical, electrochemical, and thermal functionalities. The group also has considerable research interests in self-healing materials and materials for chemical sensing.
